YOGA TOUMBA SUMMER RETREAT - July 7-13 2013
YOGA AND CREATIVE DANCE: A group Mandala

'A Mandala is an integrated structure organized around a unifying center.' In our workshops we will condition the body and mind based upon perception and creativity, developing over the course of the week and culminating in a Mandala dance performance.
Yoga workshop: The space of the Mandala
The practice of yoga and meditation enable us to refine our perceptions, during the yoga and meditation sessions we will focus on this with the aim of becoming more open internally as well as externally by working individually or in small groups. The sessions will be given inside and outside so as to profit from the majestic surrounding land and seascapes. From under the shade of the great old oak tree, the olive groves and the beach. Ultimately renewing and feeling again our essential link with nature.
Creative dance workshop: a Mandala in dance
Focusing on daily movements, on the present moment, on rediscovering ourselves, can lead to a state of dance. This practice is rooted in our body's expressiveness and the perception of the shapes our bodies make in the surrounding space. It's based upon the gesture and its ritualization, and accessible to all. Together we will look inside ourselves - into those around us and the environment, creating a phrase with body movements, words, objects - and share, alone or as a group, our creativity.
